Well Bruce, Bailey and Ira. You did it again!!!!!!!!!!!

Again this year the Lewis and Clark Urban Adventure Race was a great one!!!!

With the race start at 4:30 am I was glad I only lived a couple blocks away. But I was awake at 2 am anxiously waiting for the race. Once Amy, Michael and I had our transition area set (the one we never came back to) we were ready to start.

Hey Bruce, why such a mild National Anthem this year??

It was a great start using the new bridge section of the Lake Fayetteville Trail. Soon after plotting the first set of points we were back on the trail, including the Skylar Loop on our bikes. Then off to the Lake. Oh yeah the lake!! At first I was really glad to see we were on the lake and not a stream. Due to lack of rain in the area lately, I knew the streams would be low. What I didn’t realize was the lake would be so low also. I can easily say I have never had to get out and pull a canoe while on a lake, but it made for a great challenge. After a few hours on a windy, (Michael how windy was it?) low water lake we were off on our bikes, for a short ride, then some hay stack jumping.

Then some new points and off to town on our bikes in the rain. Did I say how much I love this sport?? Soon we found our selves in Gulley Park, along with Mount Sequoyah and the Confederate Cemetery and ending up at Hillcrest towers for some rappelling! Although there was a line of teams here, Jared and the gang quickly got teams harnessed and on our way.

After a few miles of biking we found ourselves running through town, I was really excited about the next point. I quickly realized it was the “Tree House” on Old Missouri and Mission. I had seen this on Extreme Homes on TV and had wanted to go up in it. . Another great Check Point guys, at the top of the house!!! Then off to FAC for some blindfolded fun in the kid’s gym. Hey Amy what did the slide smell like again? Then one more point on the trail and off to the finish line.

10 hours and 13 minutes of pure fun!!! I do really love this sport!!!

I do have to mention the food. This is one of the few races you can do and gain weight. Dinner on Friday and lunch and dinner on Saturday!!! Great door prizes also.  AND BEER SPONSORS THIS YEAR!!!

Last but most definitely not least I want to THANK all the volunteers!!! You guys were up early if not earlier than us and still going late. Thanks Again, you all are the Greatest!!!!

This race is great one for beginners and a challenging one for experienced teams also!!!

Our Megasoreass team is already talking about next year’s race on November 11th!!! We can’t wait!! Come join us.
